What's in Your Missions Garage?
JIM REPPART, Director for Church Equipping

Some people's garages are like a miniature Home Depot. You can walk in and find just about any tool for any home improvement project. Other garages look like hurricane Andrew had just blown through! Instead of a place of resourcefulness and creativity the garage leaves you frustrated and discouraged.

Congregational missions programs are often like that. There are so many different missions ministries, methods of missions, programs of proclamation, styles of sending, systems of support, training of teachers, criteria for measuring the mandate-it sometimes leaves one confused and frustrated about how best to proceed in God's mission.

But what if there was a missions conference that brought together some of the most capable missions leaders to 33 workshops and over 90 classes so it was like walking into a ˇ§Home Depot garageˇ¨ for mission work? A conference that would enable you to come as a person interested in missions, a member of a missions committee, a missionary, a student of missions, a short-term worker or a support person, and find just the tools you need for advancing the mission of God worldwide?

Well, it's happening! Plan now to attend the Global Missions Conference, July 20-23, 2005 at the Arlington Convention Center, Dallas Fort Worth-the first conference of its kind in churches of Christ.

Over 75 missionaries, missions ministers and teachers of missions, will inspire, encourage and equip you for God's mission.

  1. You will be inspired by the keynote speakers.

  2. You will be encouraged by networking with hundreds of mission-minded Christians.

  3. You will be equipped in 33 workshops concerning many aspects of missions.

Churches of Christ are one of the largest missionary-sending organizations in the world. It's time we got together to:
  1. Share our stories, victories and defeats-to celebrate and learn
  2. Deepen our commitment and resolve to partner with God in His mission
  3. Improve our strategies
  4. Communicate more effectively with one another
  5. Collaborate and practice better stewardship in missions.

These and many other issues will be addressed at the conference. Whatever the level of your missions interest-be there, you will not want to miss this!
