Day 6

Yesterday we enjoyed (or at least I did!) Map Day, as we prayed over the globe for the world’s 1.2 billion Hindus. We targeted our prayers over the world’s three Hindu-majority countries as well as the eight countries home to more than 1,000,000 Hindus.

Today, let’s bring it closer to home.

I don’t know how far you have to drive (or walk, if you’re really lucky) to church today. It will take my family about 20 minutes to get there. I have no idea how many Hindu families I will drive by on the way. I do know that the Sri Lankan family at the end of our block has decorated for Diwali and that almost a quarter of a million Indians make Dallas-Fort Worth their home.

Yesterday, you prayed for the world’s Hindu population by country. Today pray for the Hindus in your zip code, those who go to school with your children or play soccer with your grandkids. Pray over your neighborhood, that whatever followers of Hinduism walk the same sidewalks you do would come to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Pray over your square block, that any who don’t yet know Jesus – Hindu or otherwise – would come in to the light of Jesus.

Thank you for praying, friend – for the world and for your block.

Blessings on your Sunday, friend. Peace.
