Praying During Ramadan
Hello, friend. You are receiving this email on March 19. This also happens to be the 20th day of Ramadan, a month holy to Muslims. The observance of a daytime fast throughout the month of Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam every Muslim is expected to observe.
In our efforts to ask the Father to make it on earth as it already is in heaven, we at MRN call people annually to pray through the month of Ramadan for Muslims scattered throughout the MedRim. I know that many of you have signed up to participate in this year’s Ramadan Prayer Challenge in which you’re receiving a daily call to prayer specifically designed with requests from MedRim workers.
To give you a taste of what we’re talking about, here is a prayer request from less than a week ago. Join me in praying once again for Aryana.
In the Islamic world, Fridays are day for religious instruction. It’s the day in the week when crowds flood the mosques of well-known imams (leaders in Mosques) to listen to their sermons. Muslims are told what is expected of them as they follow Allah on these days.
As a follower of Jesus on this Friday, please pray for Aryana, a new Iranian believer in Greece, as she begins to facilitate a Discovery Bible Study with Elham's family who are seekers from Iran.
Praise God that Aryana loves to share her testimony, cry out to the Lord when she is distressed, and always hears God through scripture.
Pray that she would abound in wisdom through these words in Colossians: May she "be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that [she] may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and growing in knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, so that [she] may have great endurance and patience." (Colossians 1:9-11)
Pray that God would guide her decisions and lead her to many more who are hungry for God's truth. Pray for Discovery Bible Studies throughout the MedRim, that when people seek Him, they would find Him.
There’s still time to sign up for the last third of the Ramadan Prayer Challenge. You can do so here: https://www.mrnet.org/events/rpc . Be on the lookout also for invitations to sign up for daily email prayer prompts during special seasons for Buddhists as well as Hindus.
Thank you for praying.
Peace.
Andy
